Shark Tooth Wadi |
February 17, 2006 |
On Friday we headed out to Shark Tooth Wadi which is about half way to Riyadh. The first bed we went to was a foavorite for shark tooth and shell fossil hunters and others in our party found a lot. Our luck wasn't so great there though we found a few pieces. Later in the day we drove to another site that was only about 7 km away but we ended up covering
close to 30 km in the rough terrain just to find a way through the canyons and ridges. There we had a lot better luck with most of the teeth sitting right on the surface. Kai enjoyed himself for the most part though when the sand would blow he would get the worst of it being only 2 feet off of the ground.
I also took these two panoramas, one at each site. The desert is pretty striking our there and I wanted to try to capture it.
